SHOULD I USE OEM OR AFTERMARKET PARTS? Part 2
September 21, 2017
When choosing aftermarket parts consider the associated warranty periods. The good news is that, there are now well-known aftermarket manufacturers which provide a warranty that is close to, or at times even surpassing that of OEM parts warranty coverage.
Generally, aftermarket parts may have less quality and reliability when compared to OEM parts that are coming straight from the original manufacturer. Although, somehow that has recently improved as more aftermarket parts manufacturers are striving hard to achieve the same quality or perhaps surpass the OEM brands’ quality.
CHOOSING BETWEEN OEM AND AFTERMARKET PARTS
Every car owner may have varying reasons to consider when making decisions in buying replacement parts. It can be limited by money, the type of parts needed and the availability of the given part. But If your car is still under warranty from the original manufacturer, choosing OEM parts is a wise option. There are also times when you will not find any aftermarket suppliers for the parts you will need depending on your car brand. While at other times, it can be the complete opposite and the only choice left is using aftermarket parts.
Some car owners may be too particular with original branding and others may worry about aftermarket parts inferior quality. The good thing is that, aftermarket suppliers are now more varied and most of them are now offering high-quality parts that can highly compete with OEM brands. And, the best thing is that they can cost way cheaper.
